Tips for creating a stand out summer table

With the summer in sight, now is the time to seize the opportunity for some alfresco dining. It’s great fun dressing the table for those lazy summer days and everyone enjoys a slow lunch or supper outside with friends and family. Here are our top tips to make your summer table a real stand out for your guests!

Mix and match the tablecloth and napkins to add some colour and interest. 

Table runners can help add some contrast to a tablecloth and bring in another colour to co-ordinate with. 

Glass jugs filled with chilled water with lime or cucumber shavings, or ice cubes made with with edible flowers or fruit inside make a pretty and refreshing touch. 

Ensure you have seat cushions to help comfy up the outside wooden dining chairs. 

Drape blankets over chairs to help keep everyone warm when it gets chilly at night.

Dot scented candles around the table for some soft summer scents and to help keep the bugs away. 

Add bud vases with simple stems from the garden or a jug of flowers from the to add some colour and laid back final touches to the table. 

Place some tealights around the table in clusters to provide some ambience and light for when the sun goes down. Coloured tealights can help add some fun and colour to the table.
